I woke up alone in my home, my cave. My heart is clam, but when my eyes open and look to my side and realize that nothing is there, it skips. My muzzle stays calm and silent the smile that is always. I look deeper and beyond the empty space to the world that isn't, to the dream world and to my hopes, the night before.
I was alone as always, but this loneliness was not emptiness or pain. The starts did keep me company on the high cliffs of the mountain, their light showing me not what is, but what could be, what is out there to be done and could come. The moons too flooded my eyes with their glow of peace as I stood there dreaming, hoping tha

Theif in the Night-Unfinished
Storm clouds rolled overhead as he moved through the darkened and hazy sky. Though he couldn't tell, he could feel that it was neither day nor night where he was. The falling rain pelted him in the face, but he never felt the rain touch him. The ground passing underneath him seemed to be dead; nothing could live there. Sharp rocks jutted out from every which angle and direction, as if warding off any unwanted company. When the rain touched the ground it was instantly swallowed into the thirsty soil that was beneath the rocks. He watched the horizon as the storm shot bolts of lightning at the ground. They never seemed to make a loud thu
The little blue dragon was looking around from his perch in a tree. A little smile played on his muzzle as he looked for his midday meal, preferably a rabbit. It was his favorite of all game to hunt and to dine on, but he had a feeling he may not find one in this area. However, being a stubborn drake, he did not let this deter him from his vigilant watch.
Below him, adjacent to the tree where he found his lookout, were several small bushes. He had forgot to keep an eye or even an ear down there. A fat gray rabbit was quietly munching on some greens, completely hidden from the light of the sun and all its enemies. The dragon was growing restl
The chill bites at his snout, forcing him to wake up and nearly choking him with the heavy air, but he holds on since he knows she is close. Makaila had been searching for her for many nights now.
She was the one dragoness he saw his future with, even if he had known her for less them a month, he still felt, and she felt it towards him. Then it fell apart, Makaila's father was in a rage and cursed the dragoness, who soon fled the lands. However, vainly Makaila asked her for forgiveness, but the fear his father sent into her was too strong and deep.
His mind jumped with a start the second her name came back to him, "Cirion!" he roared. The r
The crimson light filled the sky with the sun's presence, which poured over the green leafed treetops of the forest. The canopy of the forest bled from the sun's light, as it descended past the horizon and allowing night to take its place. No light touched the forest's floor since it was, as some would call it, cursed from the great evil that lived there.
These were rumors told by the local inhabitants; no one knew if there was an evil that lived there. "All who travel through the forest become trapped in the darkness that dwells on the ground and are consumed by the evil." was what most travelers would hear if they were to encounter a lo
The bright morning sun had just appeared over the horizon, bringing a new and fresh day to the town of Grant. The day is September 2nd, the first day of school for this year. If you had the ears of a fox, you could hear an alarm clock from every house in the neighborhood. His mother's bus had just picked up the first student when Robert's alarm went off. His mind was full of millions of thoughts about how his day would go; some were horrifying thoughts, while some were beautiful. As if he was slug, he got out of his bed slowly. He was a tall fifteen-year-old with jet-black hair. He made average grades last year in school and was never
The Ice-cold wind had pierced her fur. She was a fox trapped in a winter blizzard, curled up in ball trying to brave the pounding currents of snow. Her tail was wrapped around her muzzle, though it was to no avail. There was no hope; she could feel the burning pain of the cold slowly taking her life. The snow had built a wall around the fox and had soaked her fur down to the skin.
Her life was flashing before her eyes with images of her parents and siblings. She had just left her to go out in the wild to live on her own. She tried to cry but her tears were frozen as soon as they hit her furry white cheeks.
She had given up and was ready t
Night had fallen and with it came fear. Every creature in the jungle could sense it; anyone could tell you so by the silence. The only noise that Sara could hear was the breathing of her fellow soldiers. They had been waiting for a sign of the enemy and this was it. Their platoon was comprised of foxes and wolves, having good hearing they never expected silence to hurt this much or was it the thought of what could make such a noise. They knew their enemy was out there, somewhere.
"Aaron, do you have any information on the position of the enemy?" Sara asked as she clutched her rifle tightly and swished her tail to repel the heat.
"Sorry, I d
